The dangers of quilting

While hand sewing the binding to the back of my latest quilt, I put the needle through my fingernail.  It didn't hurt a bit.  It was just really cool.  This quilt has taken a lot out of me.  It is by far the largest one I have done.  It took forever to baste the thing, and even longer to quilt it.  There has been blood and sweat.  No tears, but it's still early.  As I write this, the quilt is in the dryer.  There is always a bit of anxiety when you wash and dry the quilt for the first time.  Fingers crossed it doesn't fall apart.
